Axogen is looking for a highly motivated intern to join its Clinical Operations team. An experienced mentor will conduct hands-on sessions and provide guidance. In this internship, you'll get a chance to see how a leading biomedical technology company operates. As a Clinical Operations Intern, you will be involved with daily operations and will participate in activities related to product development and clinical research processes, both of which are crucial to the successful commercialization of biotechnology products.

Role 1: Biomedical R&D Intern.

Summary of the R&D Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join our R&D team at Axogen. An experienced mentor will conduct hands-on sessions and provide guidance. This internship will provide the intern with a unique insight into the benefits of working within a smaller biomedical company; high visibility within the company. A researcher intern will get involved in preclinical in vitro and in vivo studies, new product feasibility, and research in the R&D lab.

Requirements of the R&D Intern
  • Undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or other related program
  • Ability to work 29 hours per week; day/hours will be determined by the student's class load
  • Drug-testing passes
  • Experience with ELISA, proteomics, and mass spectrometry in the lab and in vitro
  • Chemistry of organic and polymer compounds
  • Prefer some in vivo experience
  • Independent design and execution of experiences.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
  • The ability to use Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office, as well as perform basic data analysis is desirable
  • Respect and good teamwork skills are desirable.
  • Possibility of independently following protocols and instructions
  • You should be able to manage your time well and organize your affairs well.
Project Details
  • Assist in preclinical in vitro and in vivo studies.
  • After training, assist with mass spectrometry procedures and work independently
  • Assist with data analysis and data management
  • Reagent ordering, lab organization

Role 2: Clinical Operations Intern

Summary of the Clinical Operations Intern

Axogen is looking for a highly motivated intern to join its Clinical Operations team. Knowledgeable mentors will guide learners through an intense hands-on experience that is both dynamic and professional. The internship will provide a unique insight into the operations of a leading biomedical technology company with high visibility within the organization. Clinical Operations Interns will gain valuable insight into product development and clinical research processes by participating in core business processes, daily operations, and executing a relevant project.

Requirements of the Clinical Operations Intern
  • You must be a student of an undergraduate or graduate program; preferably medicine, life sciences, biomedical engineering, or health information technology
  • Work 20-30 (up to 40) hours per week; depending on the student's class load, specific days/hours may vary
  • Drug-free status
  • An analytical mind, good organizational skills, and problem-solving ability are crucial
  • A strong ability to communicate verbally and in writing is essential
  • Work effectively across multiple departments within an organization
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as advanced PC skills
Project Details
  • Preparation for the Bioresearch Monitoring (BIMO) audit for the RECON clinical trial
  • This project will be led by a program leader and will include:
  • Prepare for the BIMO audit by reviewing and investigating site logs and documentation for RECON
  • Managing clinical research documents, conducting quality control, and reviewing study documentation
  • Providing the RECON team with output summaries from the audit assessment database to guide mitigation and remediation efforts
  • Contribute to mitigating and remediating environmental damages during the internship

The intern will be exposed to the advantages of working in a smaller biomedical company; high visibility within the company. Your responsibilities as a Legal Contracts Intern will require you to review and interpret complex contracts and supporting documentation in order to enter information and documentation into a newly designed contract management system. Candidates should be comfortable reviewing legal documents, balance independent and team-based work, be excellent communicators, and be detail-oriented. Working in a fast-paced environment gives you the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge in the legal field.

Requirements of the Legal Contracts Intern
  • You should be currently enrolled in a paralegal program or related field at an undergraduate or postgraduate level
  • Students have the option of working part-time or full-time for a limited period of time, based on their class load.
  • Ability to analyze data well
  • Contract knowledge is a plus
  • Capacity to adapt quickly to changes in technology and new needs
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • The ability to use Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office, as well as perform basic data analysis is desirable
  • Knowledge of a case management system or contract management system is desirable
  • An attitude of respect and good teamwork
  • The ability to follow instructions and protocols independently
  • Ability to organize and manage time well
Project Details

Project will focus on the launch of a newly designed contract management system. Tracking and documentation retention require certain content to be inputted into the system.
