We are seeking a skilled developer to join our IBM MQ Software development team. As part of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality software, working with a variety of technologies and programming languages. The role requires a good level of personal organisation and the ability to work well within a distributed global team in a fast paced and exciting environment. The MQ team employs agile development practices with all team members actively engaged in the planning, development, testing and usability related tasks owned and delivered by their 'Delivery Team'. Preferred candidates will be enthusiastic, highly motivated team players who have software skills/experience and demonstrate a genuine desire and aptitude to perform the multi-disciplinary activities inherent in a Software Engineering role. The work performed will have a high degree of technical content, is diverse and challenging yet always rewarding.

Your Role And Responsibilities

• Successful candidates will possess strong coding and testing skills.
• A key focus of this role is the development of high quality and reliable automated system tests to verify new function / enhancements within the MQ product.

• Ability to pick up product and technical skills quickly.
• A passion for designing and implementing high quality code.
• Strong analytical and problem solving expertise.
• Ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion
• Please note - This position requires working onsite a minimum of 3 days per week at our Hursley location.

Preferred Education

• Bachelor's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• Expertise in Perl, Python or similar scripting languages.
• Good working knowledge of Linux and Windows platforms.
• Expertise in testing practices and familiarity with automated testing frameworks.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

• 6+ years experience in software development and automated system testing.
• Skills in C/C++, Java & Ansible.
• Exposure to development / diagnostic tools and processes (Eclipse, git, GDB, VisualSudio, Windbg, Wireshark).
• Exposure to agile development methodologies and tools (git / Salesforce).
