Business Analytics & Insights (BAI) harnesses the power of data to drive robust analytical insights that inform some of Pfizer's most critical business questions. Our dynamic, exciting team of subject-matter experts comes from diverse backgrounds and experiences, including market research, data science, digital analytics, finance and consulting. As a team, we collaborate to turn data into meaningful insights that will have a direct impact on patient's lives and the future of Pfizer as a data-driven organization. The BAI Manager, UK, will partner with the UK commercial teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality strategic business decision support. As a member of the Business Analytics & Insights organization, within new Chief Marketing organization, this colleague will partner with Commercial Finance, Digital COEs, Chief Business Officer COEs , agile Bold Move 3.3 teams, and other analytics functions as necessary to ensure all resources are fully and appropriately leveraged to deliver robust solutions to business issues.
The person in this role will assist to frame, investigate, and answer key business questions and deliver the analytics and insights to support the adaptation of global strategies and tactics for the local market. This will include performance measurement, customer analytics, customer journey development, customer data mining and market research, as needed to uncover insights. This role is dynamic, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and covers a broad range of strategic topics that are critical to our business. The successful candidate will join BAI colleagues worldwide that are constantly supporting business transformation through their proactive thought leadership, innovative analytical capabilities and their ability to communicate highly complex and dynamic information in new and creative ways.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Role definition and Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Market Analytics
  • Provide Analytic support in the market and interfacing with country commercial teams to provide data driven strategic guidance.
  • In partnership with country stakeholders, recommend, define and implement business analytics plans that generate insights and influence business priorities and objectives
  • Support customer/omni-channel analysis and consultation to proactively provide deep insights that drive and maximize business opportunities, including segmentation, customer journey development, data mining, workshopping insights into actions. Collaborate closely with marketing and Customer Experience teams in this context and lead forums to analyze and discuss results with country leadership.
  • Understand key healthcare systems, data sources, and ability to merge those data sources in a meaningful way
  • Assist to frame, investigate, and answer key business questions related to the identification and evaluation of commercial strategies and tactics
Forecasting/Performance/ Operating Plan Support
  • In partnership with key Pfizer stakeholders, assist the development of Long-Range Forecast, operating plans and Latest Estimate reviews. Regular review and enhancement of plans
  • Ensure effective performance measurement and deliver regular assessments of portfolio performance to leadership. Ensure accuracy of the reports and clear articulation of the data and its meaning for the business.
  • Collaborate with other global BAI, and COE’s to inform and guide commercial resource allocation, including omnichannel sizing and segmentation.
Vendor/Offshore Resource Management
  • Develop, commission and contract projects through preferred vendors
  • Accountable for meeting compliance and Corporate SOP obligations of all PMR projects
  • Manage budgets associated with assigned activities
  • Direct workload of flexible resources
Collaboration with another Analytical team 
  • Partner with other analytical teams to adapt global strategies to the local markets
  • Actively seek to share knowledge and expertise with other colleagues making use of knowledge sharing platform
  • Alignment with other BAI teams (CoEs/other Country teams) to ensure cohesive activities with our stakeholders

Collaborative: Manages projects with others; shares responsibility and credit; develops self and others through teamwork;
Project Manager: Articulates scope and deliverables of projects and delivers analyses within timelines

PROFESIONAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Technical Skills 
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Understands quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Knowledgeable about study design and able to assess vendor technical capabilities.
  • Extensive experience in management of secondary data and familiarity with pharma applicable data is highly desired (ex. Midas).
  • Proven ability to connect, integrate and synthesize analysis and data into a meaningful ‘so what’ to drive concrete strategic recommendations and enable commercial decision making. Capable of describing relevant caveats in data or in a model and how they relate to business question. Experience with data visualization solutions (ex. Tableau) and other advanced analytic/data science solutions (ex. DSS) will be a plus.
  • Expertise in the field of customer/omni-channel analytics
  • Previous demonstrated experience of forecasting revenues
Experience

Proven commercial, strategy, consulting and/or research/analytics experience, experience with budget and resource allocation management, Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals experience highly preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s degree required; Masters preferred in a quantitative discipline.
