Job Description:
This position manages the DSCADA West server infrastructure and hardware refresh for (3) computer datacenters at APCHQ, Energy Center, and Montgomery SDC and specifies the Operator workstation hardware located in (6) Distribution Control Centers, DCCs. This position serves as a technical subject matter expert as a Windows Domain Admin and Server Admin for the Alabama Power and Mississippi Power distribution OT environments. The position is a member of the DSCADA West Cyber Security group responsible for implementation of the security strategy including installation, local monitoring of security tools, and project budgeting. The role includes identifying opportunities for collaboration and consistency in supporting the DSCADA/ADMS environments across the Southern Company system.
Job Experience and Education :
- BS Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology is preferred
- 10 years’ experience supporting technology infrastructure and or server hardware is preferred
- Experience in the specification and evaluation of server and workstation hardware is desired
- Experience in working with hardware vendors and manufacturers as well as system, application, and security software vendors and consultants in support of a Distribution Management and SCADA environment is desired.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Windows Domain Admin and Server Admin skills are required
- RedHat LINUX Admin skills preferred
- Knowledge of Cyber Security and NIST 800-53 guidelines is desired
- Previous experience with Palo Alto firewalls, and IPS is preferred
- Knowledge of network zoning is desired
- Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy is required
- Demonstrated ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot server hardware
- Knowledge of networks and network protocols is preferred
- Demonstrated behaviors consistent with teamwork and inclusion
- Exercise independent judgement and discretion
- Self-motivated, proactive, dependable, and responsive
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities
