How will you make an impact?
In this role you will join our Instrument and Enterprise Services (IES) team as part of our Unity Lab Services (ULS) brand, which provides integrated solutions, instrument, and enterprise services to our valued customers! The primary territory includes New Jersey, and frequent travel within this geography is required. You have the opportunity to lead various aspects of field service support and the customer relationship within our Laboratory Product Division (LPD). You will provide advanced services on laboratory equipment, including repairs, preventative maintenance, installation, and instrument qualifications, as well as being an advocate for Thermo Fisher Scientific.
What will you do?
- Repair, install, and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment products including incubators, centrifuges, cold storage (refrigerators and freezers) and other equipment as needed
- Schedule and complete thorough preventative maintenance service to assure peak uptime of customer equipment
- Provide onsite service training to Biomedical Engineering Technicians (BMET) or advanced operators
- Handle expenses and spare parts inventory in a timely and accurate manner
- Document daily service actions through the company work order database
- Maintains courteous, and knowledgeable communication with customer to ensure alignment of all aspects of the service event (status, cost, scheduling, etc.)
How will you get there?
Education
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Electronics, or equivalent experience required
- EPA Certification preferred
Experience
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience
- Hands-on refrigeration experience required
- Advanced experience working with basic test equipment such as DMM, tachometer, temperature devices, etc.
- Ability to operate computers, smartphones and related software efficiently
- Effective organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision
- Ability to work independently diagnosing and troubleshooting with schematics, diagrams, service manuals and other technical documentation
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Take on opportunities and challenges with urgency, high energy and passion, and consistently meets deadlines
- Strong Customer Focus – builds strong relationships and delivers customer-centric service
- Ability to lift 50 lbs with assistance, and carry 25-30 Lbs. continuously throughout the day
- Ability to drive frequently within territory and travel overnight if required
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving
