Job Description
Overview
***This position is located in Kuwait, in support of LOGCAP***
Position requires thorough knowledge of electrical engineering, as well as CAD and schematics. Design and develop electrical systems to the required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability and quality. Invent new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs. Is responsible for the counterfeit review and inspection of all electronic parts or end items, components, parts, or assemblies that contain electronic parts to determine their authenticity. Researches and validates electrical certifications to meet ARCENT electrical requirements. Electrical Inspector inspects, analyzes, and assesses all cases of suspected counterfeit material and develops inspection packet. Ensures compliance with requisite contractual, US Government, DoD, U.S. Army, local and safety, regulations, codes, policies, guidelines and instructions. Monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, Vectrus Safety Procedures and ASG-KU standards.
Responsibilities:

- Provides support in research, planning, installation, documentation and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, actual codes and standards as well as customer requirements.
- Reviews submittals and technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to actual codes, standards and customer requirements.
- Conducts field surveys and other data.
- Performs assignments independently with instruction as to the general results expected and with guidance from Facilities
- Engineer on unusual or complex problems.
- Conducts receiving inspections and ensures products are meeting the requirements, engineering specifications and appropriate industry / regulatory standards according to established procedures in order to determine their integrity and fitness for intended application.
- Inspects and verifies materials, products, and equipment conformance to specifications per requirements and identified standards.
- Marks items for acceptance or rejection, records test results and inspection data, and compares findings with specifications to ensure conformance to standards.
- Identify, label and generate reports as well as non-conformance reports for all defective materials
- Ensure control and maintenance of all related documents for material, product, or equipment retention period.
- Inspect for physical damage.
- Control of non-conformance items.
- Ensure inspection times are met.
- Locate and validate materiel/equipment electrical certification.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from an international accredited University.
Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination:
To be qualified for this position you must comply with USCENTCOM MOD 16 that requires proof that you are fully vaccinated for COVID-19, as defined by the CDC or host country requirements. As of now, to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 you must have received either two doses of Pfizer BioNTech Vaccine, two doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford Vaccine, two doses of Moderna Vaccine, or one dose of Johnson & Johnson Vaccine, and two weeks must have elapsed after the final dose was administered. This definition may change in accordance with CDC guidelines. Compliance with this government requirement is an essential function of the position and is a condition of employment.
Experience:
- Must have at least 5 years of related engineering experience.
Skills:
- Knowledgeable in British Standards, local Host Nation Codes, National Electrical Code (NEC) and International Building Code (IBC).
- Research UFC, US Army or other codes from standards as required by projects.
- Strong leadership and analytical skills.
- Effective communication, organizational and time management skills.
- Good interpersonal and people management skills.
- High competency and demonstration of engineering skills.
- High level of analytical and research skills translated and clearly expressed in written documents ranging from correspondence, statements of work, white papers and contribution to policy development.
Working Conditions:
Works in a general office environment. However, duties will involve the conduct of work outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions including frequent dust storms and high temperatures – up to 60 degrees centigrade during the summer months. Potential exposure to chemical or biological agents could exist. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certain areas is required. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with all Fire, Safety and ASG-KU policies. Normal work week is 48 hours, but must be able to work overtime as required.
Physical Requirements:
While performing duties of this job, would occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, and use tools or controls. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 12 Kg.
