Job Description
Overview
We are looking for a Field Engineering Technician/Technologist to support field work related to:
- flow monitoring
- water quality sampling
- well monitoring, and
- designated substances work
In this position you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and technologists on multiple projects at various stages and support engineering activities. This is an entry level position.
Most of the Things You’ll Work On:
- Installation and removal of equipment
- Confined space entry as well as working at heights
- Physical field work involved
- Supporting existing field team in a range of field activities including the review and preparation of field data preparing
Qualifications
You'll Need to Have:
- Technician or technologist College degree
- Previous work experience with flow monitoring and sampling equipment in storm and sanitary sewer systems or with designated substances (ex. mold, asbestos) will be considered an asset
- Able to work with typical software tools (WORD, EXCEL)
- Safety training is an asset (first aid, CPR, confined space, traffic control, working at heights)
- Familiarity with Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM) - Book 7 will be considered an asset
- A vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage and hold a valid driver’s license
- A positive attitude, initiative, enthusiasm, a desire to continually learn and grow, a detail and quality focus, good judgement, a good work ethic, adaptability and good communication skills

We are currently in a work from home model during COVID-19, but when we do return to the office we're located on the 3rd floor of 8133 Warden Avenue, our Markham office in the Remington Corporate Centre is situated in the heart of Canada’s High-Tech Capital, Downtown Markham. This fast growing, master-planned community is immersed with public art, landscaped green space and a truly unique mix of amenities, seamlessly connected to public transit and major roadways. The neighbourhood is evolving into York Region’s premier hub of culture, education, commerce and entertainment.
