Description:
Amazon Payment Experience Platform team at Amazon India Development Center, Bangalore is looking for a Developer to design and build the next generation of Payments platform and product from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a team that will be responsible for building a successful, sustainable and strategic business for Amazon, from the ground up! You will get the opportunity to code on almost all key pages on brand new Payments stack building features and improving business metrics. This team will work on diverse technology stack from SOA, UI frameworks, React-Native and Android.
The ideal candidate will be instrumental in shaping the product direction and will be actively involved in defining key product features that impact the business. You will work with Sr SDEs/FEs at Amazon to evolve the design and architecture of the products owned by this team. You will be responsible to set up and hold a high software quality bar besides providing technical direction to a highly technical team of Software Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
- Work closely with senior engineers to design, implement and deploy applications that impact the Amazon.in business with an emphasis on Mobile, Payments, and e-Commerce website development.
- Implement best practices in modern software engineering: mobile application design, implementation, testing, version control, documentation, deployment, monitoring and operations
- Own the delivery of an integral piece of a system or application.
- Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments
- Assist directly and indirectly in the continual hiring and development of technical talent.
- Create and execute appropriate quality plans, project plans, test strategies and processes for development activities in concert with business and project management efforts.
- Translate requirements into robust, efficient, supportable solutions that work well within the overall system architecture.
- Write high-quality code and participate in design and code reviews to maintain our development standards.
- Work with product and design teams to deliver and operate large scale, distributed services in the cloud
- Encourage and support knowledge-sharing within team and external groups
- Implement test automation on all code implemented through unit testing and integration testing.
The ideal candidate will be a leader, quick learner and be able to work independently. He/she should be able to operate in dynamic environment where time to hit market is super critical. The candidate will need to balance technical leadership and savvy with good business judgment to make the right decisions about technology choices.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with object-oriented design
- 2+ years of professional non-internship experience with front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS
- 5+ years industry software experience working on consumer-facing applications
- React or React Native Experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience developing with React Native on iOS and Android mobile platforms
- Experience with JavaScript, Web pack and TypeScript
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- Experience in utilizing design patterns, building custom UX widgets and optimizing apps for performance.
- Experience working in a regulated environment with design controls.
- Knowledge of Application Security principles and how they impact development and deployment of applications.
- Experience with REST architecture for web services
- Experience writing testable code and automating test regressions
