WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Support on-market products, work with design engineers and suppliers to optimize product design.
  • Work with Senior Engineers to provide support and consultancy to suppliers on process validations and process development.
  • Manage Design Change Package activities to implement a variety of updates including process improvements, product enhancements, and supply continuity updates.
  • Contribute to the technical aspects of Problem Solving, Failure Analysis, and Corrective and Preventative Actions.
  • Work with internal departments and external vendors to obtain prototype parts and to understand their capabilities and limitations.
  • Gain a detailed understanding of the quality and regulatory requirements of Abbott, FDA and ISO regulations, managing projects within these requirements.
  • Gain a detailed understanding of overall scheduling, managing time and tasks within a defined schedule.
  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Field (Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical preferred).
  • Experience in fast paced operations engineering environment, medical device experience preferred.
  • Must be capable of coordinating cross functionally with groups such as R&D, Supply Chain, GP (Global Procurement), Design and Supplier Quality to drive design change packages and non-conformances.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast paced changing environment.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in a timely manner. Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as an attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed business environment.
PREFERRED
  • 1+ years of engineering experience in Medical Device Industry
