Job Summary
Shape the way engineers design and develop state-of-the-art Medical Devices through the use of modeling and simulation. In this pre-sales role, you will leverage your experiences to drive our Technical Computing and Model-Based Design products in the Medical Devices Industry. You will spend most of your time working with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to understand their technical and business challenges and proposing solutions for developing advanced systems such as Surgical Robots, Diagnostic & Therapeutic Devices, and Medical Imaging equipment. Travel can be expected up to about 30 – 40% generally throughout North America.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with prospective customers to understand their workflow and use this knowledge to recommend effective solutions.
- Contribute to continual improvement of customers’ methodologies, best practices, tools and techniques for more effective product usage.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction through proactive communication and ownership of issues.
- Partner with Sales to develop and drive shared account goals/objectives aligned with the customer’s vision of success.
- Identify new application areas and work with Marketing to create compelling messaging and demonstrations to attract new customers/prospects, by delivering this content at large and small events.
- Advocate for the future direction of MathWorks products based on customer interactions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
Additional Qualifications:
- Background in mechanical, electrical, or biomedical engineering
- Experience developing and verifying physical models for control design, component sizing, and system performance evaluation
- Experience in deploying physical models for real time execution using hardware in the loop (HIL) systems
- Experience with MathWorks products (MATLAB, Simulink, State flow) or other engineering tools to design, verify, and validate medical device software.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both a group and individual settings.
