Job Description:
- Proficiency in basic test equipment (i.e. safety testers and multi-meters, to name a few) and specific radiology and imaging equipment, including dosemeters and phantoms, to assist with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining devices.
- Verifies device information against the departmental database to ensure accurate biomedical equipment inventory information. Work with BME Leadership to ensure information is entered into the BME database if an asset tag is not affixed to the equipment. The term includes devices brought in under placement agreements, loaners, demos, rentals, and research equipment. As soon as an asset leaves NM, make sure the appropriate disposal information is filled out or forwarded to the department to remove it from the inventory.
- Changes IP addresses, AE titles, and PACs information on imaging devices in collaboration with Information Systems. Work with the Clinical Engineer and the vendor if necessary to collect cybersecurity information.
- When certain systems require patching to correct cybersecurity vulnerabilities, work with the vendor.
- Documents and updates these activities in the BME database
