Job Description:



General Summary of Position:

Installs, maintains, and repairs heating, ventilating, and refrigeration equipment and air conditioning systems throughout the Washington Hospital Center, under general supervision from a Facilities Supervisor/Designee.

Education:

High school or trade/vocational school graduate; or equivalent with courses such as physics and mathematics. Must exhibit the ability to read, understand, and interpret equipment manuals, written specifications, written and oral instructions, meters and gauges, as well as models/graphic illustrations such as: layouts diagrams, blueprints, mechanical and architectural drawings, work sketches, and schematic drawings as well as the ability to detect warning signals and machinery malfunctions. Some knowledge of computer operations and microprocessor-based systems used in basic electronics preferred.

Experience:

Three years’ experience as a Junior AC&R Mechanic, or equivalent demonstrating the ability to perform this position is required. Some experience with computer operated or microprocessor based controlled systems is preferred.

Certification/Registration/Licensure

Chlorofluorocarbon(CFC) Universal Technician Certification.About MedStar Health
