Responsibilities:

Under the general direction of the Foundation Project Lead, the Biomedical Engineering student will be involved in the project. At the provincial level, this role is responsible for supporting Foundation and Auxiliary capital project initiatives and assisting with planning, coordination, implementation, and reporting. Projects will usually be related to medical equipment, but there may be the occasional infrastructure project that will require internal Facilities Management and Support (FM&S) coordination, involvement, and follow-up. The development of this plan involves collaboration with Clinical Engineering, care teams (periop, critical care, dialysis, urgent care, etc. ), IM/IT, FMS, One Patient One Experience (OPOE), Procurement, Finance teams. The Biomedical Engineering Student will participate in developing strategic and operational plans and processes to maintain effective project flow.

Qualifications:
  • Obtaining a bachelor's degree from an accredited engineering program.
  • Having experience in a clinical setting or with biomedical technology is an asset.
  • Working with technical specifications is an asset.
  • Computer skills are important, especially with computerized maintenance management systems, database applications, and quality assurance/risk management programs.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills are strong.
  • Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot problems at a high level with high judgment and initiative.
  • Report writing is a must.
  • Experience in leadership and project management would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated the ability to create and maintain excellent customer service.
  • The ability to speak other languages is an asset, particularly French.

Hours of work:
  • Long Assignment Full-Time position; 75 hours bi-weekly.
  • Beginning January 4, 2022 with an expected end date of April 29, 2023.

$17.47-$21.47 Hourly.
