Description of the position
- The Production Engineering Technical Support Division (PETSD) is looking for an Intelligent Field Specialist to join the Intelligent Field.
- The PETSD/I-Field Unit provides technical support for the Northern Area Oil Operations Organization's i-Field equipment.
- It is your responsibility to support all business matters related to i-Field equipment (MPFM, SPFM, PDHMS & SWC) and the infrastructure of intelligent fields. Hence, you should have a thorough understanding of smart oil fields with an emphasis on project management, design review, operation and troubleshooting of field equipment.
- Production Engineering Technical Support Division
- The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering. It is desirable to hold a Master's or PhD in engineering; a Professional Engineer license or registration is also desirable.
- Minimum 12 years' experience with a preference for 15 years' plus, including 5 years' experience in i-Fields infrastructure, MPFMs, SPFMs, SWCs, PDHMS, and surface well-testing operations.
- Support, develop, or monitor i-field applications, software, and workflows that are utilized to optimize production, prolong assets' integrity and lifespan, and proactively prevent challenges.
You should be able to perform the following:
- Provide the highest degree of operability for Intelligent Field Equipment, and ensure the availability and reliability of accurate and continuous oil field production and associated data.
- Conduct in-depth technical/engineering studies, evaluations, and analyses; write guidelines and policies; and initiate innovative proposals.
- Evaluate and/or recommend new technologies aimed at improving well productivity, enhancing and optimizing testing, and streamlining efficiencies.
- Define design criteria and relevant operating parameters for the new projects, technology, and adoption of intelligent field equipment.
- Support and witness field activities related to Intelligent field equipment.
- Mentoring less experienced workers.
