Job Description:

A Day in the Life

• As the 3rd Shift Manufacturing Supervisor you will lead, supervise, and direct manufacturing efforts. You will train, develop and motivate the workforce toward continuous quality improvement, a positive and safe working environment, and cost-effective operations.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Support the transfer of all Extrusion Production out of Santa Rosa to Danvers, Massachusetts over the next two years.
• Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production Santa Rosa Extrusion area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives on 3rd shift.
• Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
• Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas.
• Plans and administers procedures and budgets.
• Improve schedule linearity, reduce cycle times and inventory, reduce costs, and improve employee satisfaction.
• Participate in performing annual performance reviews, pay adjustments and Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for all direct report employees.
• Deliver performance coaching and discipline to direct reports.
• Monitor product quality, react to quality incidents and coordinate corrective actions as necessary.
• Conduct regular and ongoing informational and improvement team meetings.
• Monitor compliance to safety rules, work expectations and housekeeping standards.
• Selects and develops personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and a Minimum of 1 year of Manufacturing Work Experience OR an Associate’s Degree and a Minimum of 2 years of Manufacturing Work Experience OR a High School Diploma and a Minimum of 5 years of Manufacturing Work Experience.
• Understanding of basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
• Requires advanced knowledge of job area obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
• Available to work 3rd Shift

Nice to Have 

• Open to occasional variable shifts during training and coverage for peers.
• Degree in Engineering or Technical Sciences.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• The incumbent should have excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of employees.
• Experience in large-scale change management.
• The incumbent should be technically competent and able to provide clear direction to Operators and Technicians.
• Previous Medtronic and/or Medical Device experience is helpful.
• Shift scheduling and Kronos experience is helpful.
• Experience with interviewing, hiring and training Operators and Technicians
