A first step in a long history driven by speed and performance: The brothers Rudolf and Adolf Dassler founded the company “Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik” (Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory) in their hometown Herzogenaurach, Germany. Unbeknownst to them, they place the founding stone of the world capital of sports shoes.

Within the town, they're not the only shoe factory. More, smaller factories are scattered throughout the town, though many did not manage to survive past the 1950s and 60s. The brothers started their factory in their parents' home in 1919, moving into its proper facility in 1924.

Within the first few years, both gain notoriety. A majority of German athletes wear Dassler spikes at the Olympic Summer Games in Amsterdam, 1928. In 1936, Jesse Owens wins four gold medals at the Olympic Games in Berlin, all while sporting Dassler spikes. More medals soon followed: seven gold and five bronze medals, all for world class athletes wearing Dassler shoes. The first records are smashed as well: two World and five Olympic records. It’s their international breakthrough.

Job Description:

YOUR MISSION

• This role supports the COBRA PUMA GOLF brand.
• Work closely with the Production and Warehouse teams to ensure appropriate product costing
• Maintain standard costs of finished goods and production components in our ERP Systems
• Manage and review regular cycle counts when required
• Maintain and improve internal controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation
• Help drive month end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring transactions are in accordance with guidance from parent company while adhering to internal policies and procedures, communicating exceptions to management
• Manage freight & warehousing reconciliations and forecasting
• Prepare accruals and the appropriate journal entries
• Perform monthly bank account and general ledger account reconciliations as assigned, including but not limited to, intercompany reconciliations and confirmations with PUMA entities throughout the world
• Help drive the team in standardizing best practices and procedures
• Document job procedures and update as changes may occur
• Participate in ad hoc requests and special projects as needed

YOUR TALENT

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2-4 years of related experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
• An understanding and experience with standard costing, as well BOMs is a significant advantage
• Hands on ERP experience
• Demonstrated skills and experience in managing goals through initiative, collaboration and teamwork
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• High confidence in stating professional opinions
• Microsoft Excel skills required
• Great attention to detail
• Must be comfortable in an ever-changing environment
