Job Description:
An opportunity has arisen for a Resident Engineer to join the Engineering Department in Burj Al Arab. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:
- Supervises and directs the daily activities of all supervisors and subordinates in the Engineering Department
- Observes activities to ensure that policies and operating procedures are followed
- Make sure that all repair and maintenance work is completed in accordance with established standards
- Assist with the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the JEMS (Jumeirah Engineering Management System, which includes the Fire, Life and Safety Matrix, PPM, and Work Order Systems).
- Resolves grievances, suggestions, and complaints from colleagues, and recommends appropriate actions to the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer.
- Reports comprehensively on the activities carried out during the month to the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer (if required)
- As needed, request support and direction.
- Be familiar with all Engineering Department policies, processes, and procedures.
- To perform other duties as management may reasonably request from time to time
- For this position, the ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Health and safety certification
- An experience of at least 5 years in a supervisory role in a 5 star hotel is required
- Experience in the Middle East
- Previous work experience in multicultural environments
- Fire and life safety systems experience
- Computer literate, knowledge of financial planning and accounting, experience in project management, excellent listening skills
- Knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems
- A dynamic personality, a positive attitude, a team player and a team leader, an organized and structured approach
