Job Description:

• The Carnegie Mellon Biomedical Engineering department aims to transform healthcare worldwide through interdisciplinary engineering innovation and to train future biomedical engineers.
• The department of Biomedical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a Laboratory Technician. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a challenging and interesting work environment. YouBy planning and executing surgical experiments on both large and small laboratory animals, you will contribute significantly to the department.

Among the responsibilities you will have are:

• Writing protocols for animal care and use
• Experiments with scheduling and staffing
• Setting up the animal operating room and ordering supplies
• The process of conducting experiments includes anesthesia, surgery, peri- and post-operative animal care, and data collection.
• Providing training to undergraduate and graduate students in all listed job responsibilities
• Additional duties as assigned

• Accurately follow detailed protocols and work independently and cooperatively with others.
