- Manage the provision of biomedical engineering services, including the implementation of effective policies, procedures, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with all medical requirements
- Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement in service quality
- Manages the day-to-day maintenance of a quality management system, including identifying risk issues, conducting investigations, conducting audits, and ensuring that corrective and preventative actions are taken as appropriate
- Serves as a medical equipment technology expert on hospital committees as needed
- Train clinicians and other personnel on how to properly use equipment
- Assembles and installs new medical equipment, performs safety inspections, and ensures performance
- Provides specifications for the purchase of new equipment and recommends the replacement of obsolete or irreparable equipment
- Evaluates new products as requested
- Investigates incidents involving medical equipment and employees
- Diagnoses malfunctions and performs or coordinates repairs and remediation of medical equipment safety and recall work
- Managing equipment service contracts, warranty compliance, and department service level agreements
- Provides data to the director of biomedical engineering for the analysis of departmental operations and performance
- The design, testing, and development of medical devices, such as prosthetic limbs, artificial valves, joint replacements, and other clinical equipment
- Develops systems and products, including artificial internal organs, devices that replace body parts, and machines to diagnose medical problems
- Installs, adjusts, maintains, repairs, or provides technical support for biomedical equipment
- Develops computer software for running complicated instruments, such as three-dimensional x-ray machines
- Performs evaluations of the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment
- Tests and repairs equipment according to urgency of need
- Schedules preventative maintenance according to the quality assurance plan
- Implements and improves biomedical engineering management programs, including operational standards and effective industry-specific KPIs
- The company provides support for all medical equipment services in terms of service, delivery, efficiency, cost effectiveness, and professionalism
- Promotes and maintains effective communication within the department to ensure the team and managers/supervisors work together to achieve the department's goals
- Performs all duties in a professional, efficient, and confidential manner
- Establishes measurable goals and objectives for reporting employees, while incorporating the vision and values of the organization
- Motivates, organizes, and encourages teamwork within the workplace to ensure productivity targets are met
- Ensures that new equipment and other hospital infrastructure materials are purchased in coordination with the purchasing, finance, and project departments
- Quotations with external partners for new equipment based on information from the HOD and end users
- 4 to 7 years experiance
