Union Coop’s main activities are to establish hypermarkets
and manage cooperatives within UAE. Union Coop is the largest consumer
cooperative in the UAE as it operates 20 branches and three malls (Al Barsha
Mall, Etihad Mall and Al Warqa City Mall). Union Coop has also launched two
grocery chains: Mini Coop and Coop, a
new concept, thereby making it the first consumer cooperative to include a
smart shopping concept in many of its branches in the MENA region.
Additionally, Union Coop plays an active role in stabilizing
prices through promotional campaigns and offering real-value offers and give
prizes worth tens of millions yearly. Union Coop’s outlets offer a wide range
of products from food and electronics to hardware and household appliances.
- Job Description:
- Supports Branch Networks, POS Hardware, POS Software, as well as PC related problems and their related communication systems.
- Maintain software issues for POS systems (hardware and software).
- Ensure the maintenance of POS machines and related equipment, weighing scales, in all branches and provide first level support for hardware issues.
- All branches are responsible for maintaining all printers and providing first-level support for hardware related issues.
- Establish and maintain network connections, Automated Data Collection (ADC) devices and ADC printing issues as the first level support.
- Periodic maintenance is provided for the POS server, POS machines and virus update, and the section head is informed.
- Make sure installation-related checklists are filed.
- Troubleshoot and install - PC's, mobile phones, TAS machines, Avaya phones.
- Manage work orders (with supervisory involvement) and provide support for different branches of the Help Desk.
- Perform preventive maintenance as necessary on IT related equipment at the branches.
- The Logistics department is responsible for transporting materials to the work location, including the execution of needed work and testing if the network is working properly.
- Providing support for resolving issues of internal users.
- Projects relating to the IT Department should be included when needed.
- Maintain/monitor backup of POS Branch Server database.
- The following knowledge and skills are required:
- Good familiarity with devices, equipment, and terminologies related to IT.
- A solution to a problem.
