Summary:

A Biomedical Engineer is needed at Fort Detrick, MD, to support USAMMA.

Essential Job Functions:

• The development of biomedical devices and equipment, including artificial organs, reconstructed body parts, and diagnostic devices.
• Provide technical support to biomedical equipment, including installation, adjustment, maintenance, and repair.
• Evaluation of biomedical equipment's safety, efficacy, and effectiveness.
• Teaching clinicians and other personnel how to properly use biomedical equipment.
• With the help of chemists, biochemists, and medical scientists, define the engineering elements of biological systems.
• The research findings they conduct are used to prepare procedures, draft technical reports, and publish research papers.
• Inform scientists, nonscientist executives, clinicians, hospital executives, engineers, and others about findings from research.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 8+ years experience providing installation, adjustment, and maintenance to various types of medical device/medical device systems
• BA/BS, certifications from AAMI or ACCE associations, or training from vendor-specific courses

Preferred Qualifications:

Possession of DOD or USAMMA knowledge would be advantageous
