Job Description:

• We are seeking a Control System Engineer to join the Process Automation Systems Division of Process & Control Systems Department
• The Process Automation Systems Division is responsible for providing technical support and guidance to Saudi Aramco operating organizations and joint ventures facilitating top performance in the field of process automation, instrumentation, plant security and custody measurement applications. The responsibilities also include setting the standards, procedures and policies for new projects and upgrades. Process Automation Systems Division is also a leading organization in identifying, evaluating and developing solutions and technologies that would optimize the company performance in the aforementioned fields.
• The Control System Engineer primary role is to generate value by driving high performance and utilization of process automation systems across Saudi Aramco through standardization, project and technical support, knowledge sharing and innovation. In addition, the Control System Engineer is expected to seek, propose and deploy solutions and technologies that would facilitate enhanced control systems performance and increased opportunities for captured revenue.

Minimum Requirements:

• As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or Chemical Engineering from a recognized university and approved program. You must have a minimum of ten years’ experience in process automation systems as well as a very good understanding of chemical processes in general. You must have a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, design details, and International Standards and Specifications related to process automation systems. Knowledge and hands on experience are required in system configuration, testing, commissioning and installation with process automation systems such as: Distributed Control Systems and Emergency Shutdown Systems.
• You must have at least 5 years field experience in Oil and Gas industry.
• You must demonstrate functional understanding of international standards such as API, ISA, IEC.
• You will have professional level skill in English communication and writing.
• You will have the ability to produce technical and engineering reports.
• Active membership to International society such as API, ISA or IEC is preferred.
• Professional Certification such as PE, ISA CAP or Functional Safety is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• You will be required to perform the followings:
• Review and support projects related to process automation systems including Distributed Control Systems, Emergency Shutdown Systems, Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition Systems, Compressor Control and Remote Terminal Unit.
• Provide technical consultations to operating plants in process automation field.
• Assess new products and technologies.
• Conduct several engineering studies alone and with team.
• Develop and manage mandatory engineering standards for design, construction, installation and testing of process automation systems.
• Evaluate Saudi Aramco suppliers, service providers and system integrators for process automation applications.
• Teach process automation courses to young engineers and mentor young engineering talents.
• Publish engineering reports and technical papers.
