In perspective on the above NIT Mizoram was begun in the year 2010 in the territory of Mizoram with a target to confer education, research and preparing to prompt B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. degrees. This institute has been announced as an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament.
