What is GATE?

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is a national level eligible test for graduates and students of all the departments of engineering, It is jointly conducted by Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (IISc) and seven Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) includes IIT Mumbai, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Roorkee.


The GATE exam is supposed to be held once in a year probably in the month of February and the results of the same will be announced in the second or third week of March in every academic year.


GATE score will help the graduates to get admission in good colleges and reputed universities like IIT, Anna University, etc, this exam is especially for the students those who are willing to study the master degree or direct doctoral program in engineering or doctoral program in science or technology or Architecture.


Gate exam is also considered as qualified exam for many of the reputed foreign universities like National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University Singapore, etc

The last date to apply without a late fee is September 24. This year a new paper of Biomedical Engineering (BM) has been added to the list of already existing 24 exams.

GATE 2020 application form: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi activated the registration link for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2020 at its official website, www(dot)gate(dot)iitd(dot)ac(dot)in Candidates need to register themselves at the official website before applying.

The exam is scheduled to be conducted on February 1, 2 and 8 and 9. It will be conducted in two shifts, the morning shift will be held from 9:30 to 12:30 while the afternoon shift will be held from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

GATE 2020: Application Fee

Candidates will have to pay Rs 1500, the fee will be hiked to Rs 2000 post-September 24. Female candidates and for reserved category candidates the fee is Rs 750 and the late fee is Rs 1250.
