Center for
Biomedical Engineering, IIT Ropar is conducting
MedTech Conference 2020 from 30th Jan – 2nd Feb 2020. This is the new avatar of
CMTW which was successfully conducted by the department last year. In addition to all major components of CMTW, this year the conference shall accept short papers on medical device innovation. We also invite papers from clinicians on unmet needs and medical device use cases. Startups are invited to share their stories. These papers shall be peer reviewed and published in yearly proceedings of the MTC. Proceedings of MTC shall be published through our publication partner
Taylor & Francis and shall be submitted to Scopus and Clarivate.
Apart from this, one full day hospital visit and direct one-on-one clinician interaction shall be a major addition. Reputed clinicians, researchers and professionals from medical device companies will be on-board for talks, panel discussions and Jury. There will be ample networking opportunities for students and participants. We are in talks with PGI to formally attach the hospital with the conference. Prizes worth more than Rs. 1 Lakhs shall be given away to best paper and hackathon winners. Internships shall be on offer from major companies and startups.
This is a multi-disciplinary conference and we welcome papers from diverse areas of medical device development, deployment, usage and business. Engineering, clinical and business papers pertaining to the theme of the conference are welcome. We also welcome open-ended papers from clinicians where they might have identified a particular unmet need in their practice that may be set forth as a challenge for the engineering community to solve. Startup founders are welcome to submit papers on their products or business .
Hackathon was at the heart of CMTW last year. Continuing with the tradition, we shall be organizing it again this year as part of MTC 2020. Hackathon shall be running in a parallel theme. You need not be an author to participate in the hackathon. As a participant you shall be provided with clinically relevant challenge to solve along with your team in three days. You will get access to clinicians and to other domain experts to understand and come-up with a solution for your challenge. You will have access to Medical devices lab with all kinds of hardware and software available at your disposal to come up with a basic prototype of your solution.
