Job Description Summary
Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline based on a philosophy, method, and process. All operations that take into account both the business and technical needs of customers in order to provide a high-quality product that meets their requirements. Identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs, and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed are all part of the discipline of system design, creation, and optimization. From concept to manufacture to operation, this is the process. Has an impact on the quality of one's own work as well as the work of others in the team. Executes conventional operational/technical duties that are usually governed by written instructions and work patterns. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Establishes product requirements (internal and external), defines components and sub systems making up the overall architecture. Provides forward looking strategy for platforms and technology development / insertion to make product competitive. Defines and provides scope management. (defines the what)
- Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- Manage Install base activities, work with cross functional teams for quick resolution of customer issues. Drive improvement of key product quality metrics. Work on system and sub-system reliability.
- System and subsystem verification and validation activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Medical Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or closely related discipline and 2+ years experience in a technical discipline
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience in design & development of Hardware-HW/ Software -SW/Systems designs. Preferably medical devices like CT-Computed Tomography, MR-Magnetic Resonance.
- Ability to independently develop effective solutions for challenging design problems
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Good working knowledge about CT systems is preferred. CT Testing, Verification, manufacturing, calibration. V & V -Verification & Validation of CT, MR, X-ray.
- Experience in design and development of medical devices or complex systems. Electronics, Mechatronics, firmware.
- Knowledge about medical devices & quality processes are a big plus.
