As a Biological/Chemical Scientist/Engineer in the Technical Operations group, you will lead and participate in investigations supporting the manufacturing of Blood Gas Sensors.
Specifically, you will be responsible for:
- Reporting and rectifying equipment reliability issues in collaboration with Systems Engineers, Current Product Engineering and Software Engineers.
- Coordination and execution of technical investigations related to manufacturing challenges.
- Developing process improvement initiatives to improve productivity.
- Managing change projects using the Healthineers Performance System methodology.
- Creating internal reports and presenting summarized data to a variety of audiences, including cross-functional groups.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
- Experience in regulated environments (ISO, FDA, etc.) within the medical device manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry
- Bachelor’s in Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Polymers and Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering or similar discipline
- Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years' experience with a Master's degree or a minimum of 5 years' experience with a Bachelor's degree.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical methods, data analysis tools (Minitab, etc. ), and design of experiments (DOE)
- The ability to manage projects efficiently and effectively
- Identifying opportunities for efficiency, sustainability, and compliance improvements in manufacturing
- A strong foundation in fluid mechanics and fluidics
- Worked in a high-volume facility or developed a process from concept to transfer in manufacturing
- Knowledge of DRM and lean manufacturing concepts
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
- Experience in electrochemical sensors or semiconductors manufacturing
- Experience with selectively depositing thin film polymer solutions on substrates
- Experience with various coatings/depositions and printing methodologies such as spin, spotting, vapor, inkjet, aerosol, thick film, etc.
- Downstream processing of thin films: drying/curing, conditioning, surface treatments and modifiers, etc.
- Extensive experience with polymer formulations and control, and interaction with deposition/application processes
- The ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments with the flexibility to change priorities as required by business needs
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to function effectively in an interdisciplinary environment
