We are looking for a talented Software Engineer II for the R&D Engineering function of Medtronic Engineering and Innovation Center R&D facility for our Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure (CRHF) Software division. The individual will operate in all phases and contribute to all activities of the software development process. Candidates must be willing to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, team environment. This engineer will work closely with Sr. level team members to understand customer needs and develop high value, fully integrated solutions for medical devices. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and have a passion for technology and creative problem solver.

A Day in the Life
- Design and develop software supporting medical devices, in compliance with applicable regulations and processes.
- Develop software requirements with team members. Among these tasks are defining the user interface, defining the software interface with firmware and systems engineers, as well as receiving input from industry experts.
- Collect user requirements from internal and external clients. Review the written requirements of others and write software requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with other members of the team.
- Develop software in accordance with current industry object-oriented guidelines and design patterns.
- Develop software requirements and designs using C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, Angular, SQL Server, HTML, Typescript, CSS, Typescript, Entity Framework, and Karma/Jasmine. Review software developed by others on the team.
- Good understanding of software design patterns.
- Test your own software and other software. Document the test designs and results. Review the test designs and results of the other team members.
- Perform Code Reviews, Static Code Analysis, Dynamic Code Analysis
- Develop plans for your own work under the guidance of an experienced engineer, participate in technical reviews, implement advances in current state-of-the-art technology and identify ways to improve productivity and quality. Perform tests to verify the product's integration and to verify its functionality, then prepare a formal document.
- The candidate must be a team player. Must be positive, have high standards, be resilient, open, and creative.
- Maintains quality, extensible, and maintainable work products. Coding best practices are demonstrated.
- Dedicated to achieving and exceeding project goals and timelines.
- Thrives in working with other disciplines to develop system-minded implementations that take into account safety, performance, communication, user interface and other aspects of a final product.
Minimum Qualification:
- B.E or B.Tech in Computer Sciences, Electronics or Electrical Engineer or higher with 5 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong programming skills in using C#, .NET Core, Angular, SQL Server, HTML, Typescript, CSS, Typescript, Entity Framework and Karma/Jasmine.
- Experience with integrated development environments, such as Open Source tools and platforms. Using Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, TFS/Git, and Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of software design, development, debugging, and testing
Principal Working Relationship:
- Reports to the Engineering Supervisor/Engineering Manager
- For project-related responsibilities, be accountable to the Principal or Senior Software Engineer(s) and/or Project Manager(s)
- Interacts frequently with the Senior Developer, Tech Lead, other developers, V&V engineers, internal partners and stakeholders regarding estimations, design, implementation or requirement clarification. He works closely with global sites.
- Communicates primarily with internal contacts within the immediate group. Contacts others to gather, confirm and convey information
Nice to have:
Participate in process improvement initiatives for the software team. This includes recognizing areas for improvement as well as working with others to develop and document process improvements.
