- Installing, removing, upgrading, and interacting with network components at user locations.
- Inventorying shipments, installing racks, equipment, and infrastructure, as well as providing redline installation documents and completion reports.
- Facilitate and finalize all aspects of site acceptance.
- Data communications fault isolation.
- Scheduling the activation and deactivation of a network component.
- Interacting with users or network vendors.
- Coordination of site access, installation, cutover, activation, deactivation, planning and execution with users, site or base support, security offices and facilities personnel, long haul and local carriers.
- Training, quality assurance, and quality control for Associate and Intermediate personnel.
- In addition, ensuring customer needs and project milestones are met.
- Isolating faults in a data communications network.
- Identifying, troubleshooting, and fixing malfunctions so that new platforms can be put into service.
- Supporting the transition of services and products in compliance with the DISA contract.
- Installation of DISA's network design (classified/unclassified) LAN/WAN, DWDM, and SONET systems; including hardware and software upgrades, as well as long-distance transport, security systems, and servers.
- The use of various types of test equipment to troubleshoot circuits from fractional T1's to OC-1920's (100G)'s.
- Troubleshooting and resolving problems for DISA and other end-users; setting up operating systems, databases, applications and running BERT tests across the path, checking framing, line coding, protocols, Sonet, and IP.
- Troubleshooting and analyzing DWDM and fiber-optic circuit outages using OTDR test equipment.
- Conducting detailed and technically in-depth site survey functions at user locations as required in order to assess / analyze site preparations, develop installation plans, minor installation parts lists, and develop cost estimates.
- Coordination and execution of installation, cutover, activation and deactivation plans with users, support personnel, network managers, and local and long haul carriers.
- At the users' locations, perform installation, removal, upgrade, or interface actions on network components.
- Assisting in the completion of all site acceptance processes.
- Providing support to senior staff as needed and meeting customer requirements and project milestones.
- Monitoring and controlling computer operating systems involves a variety of difficult tasks.
- Overseeing and managing the daily activities of setting up and operating business systems.
- Conducting an analysis and planning of the system capacity and optimizing operations.
- Establish and maintain CISCO, Juniper, Safenet, Ciena, Sycamore devices.
- Analyzing and diagnosing problems that occur with operating systems and hardware.
- During various phases of testing, evaluation and installation of developed software is performed.
- Conducting system reviews, tests and software installation.
- Methods, techniques, and recommendations for achieving solutions are investigated and recommended.
- Maintaining and repairing the system / environment as well as implementing preventive maintenance.
- Managing system / environment solutions for multiple projects with varying timelines.
- Performing duties in Europe requires air travel or vehicle travel. (Travel is restricted during COVID.)
- An associate's degree and/or other specialized technical training equivalent to a technical associate's degree as well as demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical tasks are required.
- Suitable experience in managing faults, managing configurations, and maintaining wide area networks.
- Optical, cryptographic, IP routing, WAN acceleration, and network appliances (e.g., routers) are some of the areas of expertise.
- Team-oriented, dynamic work environment
- We have experience fabricating serial, cat6, coax, fiber, and DC power cables for the installation, modification, and upgrading of equipment.
- Knowledge of major vendors, such as Juniper, Sycamore, Promina, Ciena.
- Manufacturer certifications for vendor specific equipment (i.e. CISCO, Juniper, etc.)
- DoD 8570.01-M certification.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with a current DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance (eligible to obtain TS clearance).

- This person is occasionally required to move around the office to reach file cabinets, office equipment, etc.

- Frequent movement of audio/visual or computer equipment weighing up to 70 pounds throughout a large facility or business campus
