Job Description:
A candidate for the position should be self-motivated with leadership skills in project, process, and people management with limited general supervision. To coordinate the development of new products for medical devices (Class I & II) with strong technical background and project management skills. In addition to excellent people management skills, the candidate should have experience in leading medical device NPD. Working with cross-functional teams including quality, marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, and intellectual property to achieve the highest levels of cost-effectiveness, quality, and timeliness. The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of Project Management, Customer Management, and Vendor Management & Control. Extensive experience with transitioning early-stage technologies, proof of concepts, and product development.
Team players who are willing to collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and geographies are in high demand. Experience in matrix organizations is a plus.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Regional or global management of NPD projects or development of components
- Coordinate/monitor various project activities, include Financial reviews of each project on a quarterly basis, milestone reviews of projects, weekly meetings with the Core team, development of NPD projects, Verification and validation activities, projects.
- Risk identification, communication, and management of business and project risks.
- Ensure timely completion of projects by resolving conflicts among team members and engaging functional management as needed.
- Leadership skills:
- Interaction with internal stakeholders
- Managing cross-functional project teams at the regional level
- Providing regular updates on project status to regional management
- People Management
- Assign roles & responsibilities as per project plan
- Developing and monitoring project budgets (Capex, Opex) in conjunction with project team members and functional managers.
- Ensure results by integrating and aligning efforts across multiple units and functions, and acting with speed, agility, and adaptability
- To implement the best practices of Project Lifecycle Management and develop strategies for achieving project objectives
- Assist the NPD project teams with project planning, scheduling, management, and execution of the product release as per BSC product development processes (PDPs) and quality systems.
Academic Qualifications & Experience:
- A four-year bachelor's degree in engineering (or higher) with preference for Mechanical Engineering, Plastics/Polymer Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
- Ten to fifteen years' experience managing medical devices projects, plus at least two years of hands-on experience designing products.
- You must be certified as a PMP.
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as ISO 13485 and regulated medical devices for Class I and II.
- Excel and MS Project are excellent tools for project management.
- Budgets, timelines, quality and resourcing of a project.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, as well as knowledge of English (verbal and written). Positive attitude, innovative and creative thinking. Ability to take calculated risks and demonstrate Agile behaviors. Global and virtual team experience. Experience working in a multicultural environment.
