Job Purpose & Scope:

Investigates, prepares and provides technical assistance in the development of planning and specifications), in accordance with ASJC company standards.

Key Accountabilities:

• Provides general supervision and or guidance to a team of three or more design Engineers.
• Teaches and reinforces methodology and skills used to collect, analyze, and present designs, scopes and cost estimates.
• Facilitates training for personnel on areas of their technical expertise.
• Provides input to the product / project management team for opportunity prioritization, qualification, and requirements for use of design engineers on projects.
• Assists in identifying specifications and providing solutions.
• Performs detailed engineering or cost analysis to quantify cost savings or other benefits
• Consults and assists with project team to carry out risk assessments to directives and standards.
• Design Engineers tasks
• Produce design specifications and support data for manufacture of product.
• Release and control of drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, sub-contractors, and suppliers
• Scheduling of work in compliance of Project Plan.
• Support of literature function providing information in the required format.
• Follow Value Engineering applications
• Design to the factory capability of the appropriate manufacturing center.
• In addition to the above-mentioned tasks, other activities and responsibilities may be individually defined.

Team Support:

• Working as a team or individually as required and interfaces on all relevant matters
• Support of other Team members in achieving goals of allocated project.
• Tasks specified on project plan as specified by the Project Management
• Gives support to other groups and maintains contacts for technical research
• Production Support
• Working through the Engineering Change Procedure and modification of drawings MRP and Item Master, Buying Specs,
• BOM and Internal Standards.
• Analysis and Problem solving.
• Keep clear records and organize work efficiently.
• Follow Value Analysis principles
• Aid Production/Purchasing/External Suppliers with general queries.

Position Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering or Equivalent preferred
• Minimum of 4/5 years’ experience in relevant design discipline.
• Competent in a commonly used modeling package, example Pro Engineer / Promise
• A good understanding of material properties and associated techniques
• A good understanding of modern manufacturing techniques and processes
• Experienced in working within international standards and European Directives
• Experienced in disciplines calculations and or FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) techniques.
• Good communicator and can pay attention to detail.
• Confident personality and team player that maintains relationships with key individuals.
• International outlook & able to travel abroad occasionally on business.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
