Description:
  • Currently, BayCare Health System is searching for a Team Member who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service. Providing health and wellness services since 1934, St. Joseph's Hospital is an integral part of the community.
  • As a Biomedical Engineering Technician I (BMET 1), you will provide direct support and service to BayCare customers in the area of diverse medical devices and peripherals.
Responsibilities:
  • As part of this job, the incumbent will work extensively with the incident management system and resolve end user requests for medical devices in accordance with established SLAs and CES procedures.
  • Typical responsibilities include Preventive Maintenance (PM), calibration/maintenance of medical devices, and fixing broken equipment.
  • Assures that all components necessary to support the medical device are in place and functional, including power/surge protections, computer equipment, cabling, etc.
  • Moving and configuring medical devices that have been relocated.
  • Refreshes computers, transfers data, and moves software between old and new systems, with the help of Information Services.
  • Medical devices at the end of their useful lives should be decommissioned and properly disposed of.
  • During downtimes, provides local assistance to other areas to help resolve issues.
  • Provides support to various CES Field Service teams and IS Resolver groups (ex. FS Project Team, IS Field Services, and other IS Resolver groups not located locally).
  • Installs vendor hardware and software with assistance from vendors.
Required:
  • The BMET 1 is required to participate in CES related projects as directed and to assist with technology refresh, inventory management, system imaging/staging, and medical device distribution.
  • The BMET 1 also has a working knowledge of regulations, rules, and policies pertaining to medical equipment and ensures these standards are followed by outside vendors as needed.

Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics or related field
Experience:
  • Related experience in lieu of Technical Training/Program
