Internship Program Overview

Position Overview
As an Undergraduate Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on complex emerging technologies for some of the world’s leading companies. You will build technical and professional skills through robust training sessions with technology professionals across North America. We also provide career counseling and mentoring where you will connect with our leaders and build your network. Throughout your first two years at Cognizant, we will closely monitor your progress and offer coaching, training and support to help you achieve your long-term career goals at Cognizant.
The Cognizant internship will help you gain the following qualifications:
- Experience with full-stack development (such as React, Angular, or NodeJS)
- A working knowledge of object-oriented programming languages (such as C/C#, Python, Scala or Java).
- Knowledge of cloud based architecture (for example, Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure)
- DevOps expertise
- Exposure to Agile development methods
- Knowledge of TDD practices and experience with unit testing
Once you have successfully completed the internship program and joined full-time, your responsibilities will include:
- Defining requirements and developing end-to-end solutions with a diverse, experienced, agile team.
- Designed, developed, delivered, and certified production-ready code in the DevOps framework.
- A software delivery methodology based on Agile techniques.
- Develop, code, software test, and debug highly complex software solutions or enhancements to existing software. Providing assistance in troubleshooting, debugging, or analysis.
Successful candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program, currently pursuing a computer science, information technology or similar degree
- A keen interest in learning new technologies
- Career in the tech industry is a top priority
- Possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills that are strong
- Having the ability to work collaboratively in global project teams
- Cognizant cannot sponsor U.S. work authorization (including participation in a CPT/OPT program) for this role due to its nature.
